Yes, Johnny arrived safely in China early this morning, after a lengthy flight delay out of New Jersey that I’m sure added just the right touch of arghhhhhhh to his already slightly torturous 12-hour flight across half the world, although said delay also seems like just the sort of thing to put his faithful traveling companion, Jet Lag, in a really bubbly mood, so yay for that.

At any rate, he and Jet stepped off the plane to a truly lovely welcome from Chinese fans, who showered him with stunning bouquets and fun gifts while photographing and videoing his every move, which personally is just how I like my Johnny arrivals: every. single. moment. painstakingly and thoroughly captured for posterity. And then they uploaded it all to Weibo, and thus here we are, me babbling away and you drumming your fingers ever more loudly on your desk....

But wait! Before you scroll down to the delicious Weirbosity, Johnny would like to invite you to help him decide what show program he should create next via the fan poll posted today on his official website!

Please click the image to vote!

Choices are:

“Chandelier” by Sia
“Gypsy/Americano” mashup by Lady Gaga
“I Will Always Love You” by Whitney Houston
“Carmen” by George Bizet
“Cease Fire” by Christina Aguilera
“The Story” by Brandi Carlile
“Buttons” by The Pussycat Dolls

Both Whitney and “Carmen” have already seen some heavy campaigning on Twitter, so it’ll be interesting to see how this turns out. I personally would loooooove to see his interpretation of “Buttons,” especially after he posted this snippet to his Instagram last week:

Via Johnny: “The White Boy Wiggle...
A.K.A, Buttons.”

As noted on his website, you may only vote for one song at a time, but you can vote as many times as you like until voting closes upon Johnny’s return from China August 5. So please feel free to vote often for all your favorites until he gets back!

OK! Now FINALLY let’s scroll on to the picspam....

Photos below credited per Weibo stamp on each image unless otherwise noted. Please click any photo for the full-size image. Some are pleasantly huge, as we all prefer.

Our story begins in Newark, New Jersey,
where Johnny waits to board his flight...

...while nearly 7,000 miles away, his Chinese Pandas
are deeply involved in Johnny preparations,
including picking up these gorgeous bouquets
to present to him upon his arrival.
All flower pics via Karen Wolffy.

I believe they also chose at least one fan to give him,
because as we know from the past four years of AOI tours,
Please feel free to interpret that any way you wish.

More than 12 hours later.
Waiting for Johnny...

...and here he is at last!

Heading for the transport to the hotel.

This series of photos is courtesy of Haohewuyin, and is actually a set of screencaps from video that she took of Johnny at the airport. She said she won’t be able to post the video until she returns home, but for now we can enjoy a hilarious glimpse through these pics.

Yay! A fan!

IDK but he seems delighted with it.

Mmmmm... flowers.

This whole car scene kills me....

...no captions needed.

New from @Karen_Wolffy: more flower pics!

And more of the gift with which he is delighted!

After Johnny was on his way,
fans enjoyed dinner together!

Back at the Hotel...

Thank you to my amazing fans who greeted me
 at the airport. 我愛你!”

On June 17, Johnny Instagrammed this illustration of
the costume he’ll be wearing for the special boundary-breaking
male-male pairs program he’s slated to perform
during the AOI tour, skated to “When Love Is Gone,”
the theme from “Farewell My Concubine.”
Johnny will skate the role of the King’s Consort,
and a Chinese male pairs star—one rumor has it
as legendary Zhao Hongbo—will skate as the King.

And here’s a look at the Consort’s
finished costume today, via Johnny:
“I love my job.”

UPDATE!! Via Johnny’s Weibo:
“I’m so excited to be in China!
Costuming by @姿zi-studio and
hair and make-up by @造型师石耀!”

Zhang Hao [his other rumored pairs partner]

One more from the airport.
I often think he’s still the boy who was amazed
that anyone would travel and/or wait hours
to greet him at an airport when, as he wrote in
WTMW, his own mother wouldn’t wait
30 minutes in the car for him.
