My eyes are strongly focused on the Olympics next year,
and I’m working very hard to pursue that dream
of competing in my third Olympics
and winning a medal.
Whether on the ice or in the gym,
I’m constantly working on improving myself
so that, even at 29 at the next Olympics,
I’ll be just as strong as I was at my first.

After I saw Johnny Weir's Olympic performances, I found his Facebook fan page. There I read about Be Good Johnny Weir, then running on the Sundance Channel.

I decided I adored what went on in his brain and came out of his mouth, often obviously unfiltered, as much as I appreciated his skating.

I started reading old articles and watching old videos. I thought, "someone needs to collect, save, and share all the great stuff Johnny says." After several months, I finally realized that I was going to have to be that someone.

Now, over 2,500 quotes later...Johnny's still talking, and now writing, and I'm still blogging. I never, ever, thought I'd still be blogging so many quotes every month.

Thanks for the shout out.

Johnny still has the refreshing qualities of youth. Spontaneity, discovery, being in touch with his times. He did not enter his adolescent rebellion stage until about age 18, whereas most youth rebel around age 13-14.

Inside, Johnny has always harbored an old Russian man and an old Russian woman who have been his artistic muses and who tap into the wisdom of the ages. In his early skating videos, he looks inward like he is tuning in to them.

Johnny Weir is one of very few male skaters who can make me forget the technicalities of skating and just reside rapt in the moment.

My matchmaking dream: Wonder if Sasha Cohen could someday possibly spare a few donor eggs and make Johnny and Victor two amazingly flexible and artistic Russian-speaking babies who can skate physical and intellectual rings.
