Get Ready for "Be Good Johnny Weir" Season 2!!

Yes!! At last! Be Good Johnny Weir Season 2
is coming in September!

So I wasn't actually going to blog today because I wanted to leave more time for people to ooooh and ahhhh over Tuesday's brief but beautiful picspam, but then this happened:

OMG YAY FINALLY!!!! Which seemed to be pretty much everyone's response to this momentous news. That, and we hope there's lots of screen time for both husbands in Season 2... (and for Viacheslav Romanov too!! Oh Viacheslav, how we've missed you!)

So we've added a new Be Good Johnny Weir Season 2 countdown clock over in the sidebar there (just 55 days to go!), and are now busily trying to figure out ways for non-Logo customers around the world to see the new episodes ASAP...

UPDATE!! LogoTV press release issued August 3
says the premiere date is Monday, September 17th!
(Countdown clock duly revised. OMG!)

In the meantime, during the extended happy dance we were all doing, I suddenly discovered a treasure trove of HDOI rehearsal photos that I had forgotten about, and then I started messing around with them while listening to a song on repeat as opposed to doing the boring stuff I was supposed to be doing, and then this happened:

All photos © David Ingogly.
Please enjoy in full-screen, hi-def mode if you can.
I'll post the photos on an upcoming blog entry
to be further lingered over...

The photos in this particular set are somewhat muted, a concession to the low-lighting conditions, but also an effect that captures well the quietly driven atmosphere of the preshow warmup as Johnny runs through his programs in his head while he starts shedding layers...

I'm completely hooked on this "Nothing" remix by Depeche Mode (don't hate) at the moment. For me, the idea of "Nothing" represents the support (or lack thereof) that Johnny often received in the past from figure skating officialdom, and my expectations of them as his return looms ever closer...

I love the murmurings I see here and there questioning how serious he is about his comeback. Look at the intensity and determination in these photos. And that's for a non-competitive event, before he was in the full-on ├╝ber-dedicated training mode in which he's now immersed.

What could possibly stop him from achieving all that he wants to achieve?

Just exactly that: Nothing.

It's given me some fire to know
there are so many people out there
waiting for me to come back
and shove it down everyone's throat.
