Just Johnny ...

The source of genius

is imagination alone,

the refinement of the senses

that sees what others do not see,

or sees them differently.

~ Eugene Delacroix

The stupid believe that

to be truthful is easy;

only the artist, the great artist,

knows how difficult it is.

~ Willa Cather

To create one's own world

in any of the arts

takes courage.

~ Georgia O'Keeffe

Where there is great love

there are always miracles.

~ Willa Cather

Great. I love good quotes, and these quotes hit the proverbial nail on the head.

Thank you.

I once overheard another mother saying how very much she wished her son was more creative.

I thought, "No, you don't, not really. The idea of being 'creative' appeals to you in theory, but not in practice.

"You and you son are clearly uncomfortable with anyone who is different. You and your son would be very unhappy if others in the community thought your son or his ideas, interests, or behavior was odd.

"And that's what creativity requires--being different, being odd. If you do the same things everyone else does and do it in the same way, that's the opposite of being creative."

Thank goodness for those strong and brave enough to be creative and/or allow their children to be.

Great job once again MM! Love the quotes and how you always manage to find and say just the right thing at the right time!

God has blessed the creative ones with the ability to expand our vision beyond the mundane through their work. We view their work and we are reminded that there is a great deal more than we ordinarily see, and that it is transcendentally beautiful.

Thank you for a wonderful selection of quotes. You (and Johnny) always have dozens of ideas and thoughts bubbling up from your subconsciousness and popping like golden champagne bubbles in your blog (or interviews) for all to enjoy. Chateau Lafite Misfit Mimes 2011 will be yet another vintage year.

I appreciate the effort you must put into keeping this blog so lively and entertaining.
